Vogue France’s October 2025 issue introduced a new wave of fashion trends inspired by both tradition and modern style. This month’s edition showcases many new concepts and unique takes on already existing items. They show us that everything can be seen and worn differently, that it is possible to have a unique look. When it comes to fashion, autumn is normally portrayed as using warm colours, wool, and chunky accessories like scarves. In this edition, the items that really stick out and give a new take on shoes and all the oversize knitwear.
Vogue’s autumn editions normally showcase the same shoe over and over again, with sometimes only a slight difference. It seemed like classic pink ballerinas have been adopted by many different brands, but there is one specific designer who took a different approach. This designer’s name is Christian Louboutin, well known and desired for his classic red-bottom heels, and he has just launched a new campaign called Première Danse. This collection continues to be made up of heels; however, there is a twist. The shape of the heel is based on a ballerina’s pointe shoe with the flat front, little bow, and ribbon winding up the ankle. These heels still have Louboutin’s signature red soles. The material of the heels seems to be made out of satin, making them look even more delicate than the other styles he has to offer or ballet point shoes themselves. This campaign really stands out in this issue compared to the other items of footwear that are being offered.
Another standout trend was luxury knitwear. Soft wool and cashmere jumpers in cream and chocolate tones were featured throughout the issue. These items are much more wearable in day-to-day life but can also be just as unique and special. In the new campaigns by Gucci and Fendi, there is knitwear in all different styles. Gucci has presented us with many neutral autumn looks. Some of them have a pop of a bright muted brown or green. The knitwear itself consists of traditional shapes such as cardigans and trench coats but still has an original feel due to the small intricate details such as buttons and their placement, as well as the type of knitting used, which leads to showing a slight pattern and/or design. For Fendi, however, they took the approach to make it for a more formal setting. It feels as such because the garment itself is a knee-length crochet dress with a matching cardigan, which has an ombre colouring going from beige to a dark orange, beige again, then a warm dark brown. This carefully curated piece seems to fully capture the essence of autumn. Vogue highlighted how French fashion combines cosiness with elegance, especially during the cooler October weather.
In conclusion, the October 2025 issue of Vogue France focused on clothing that are stylish and unique pieces for autumn. The ballet heels and the knitwear truly show a new take on the already existing ideas and also demonstrate a certain French charm. These trends show that elegance can be simple but still uniquely personal.
