The holidays come to LGB!

By Emmanuelle Pirard, Year 12

This Sunday, the annual Winter Market, held in the Arts Center, brought a sense of holiday spirit onto campus.

It was buzzing with activity, with many booths selling gifts and surprises for a variety of worthy causes.

On the second floor, students gathered to sing, cheered by friends, parents and teachers. Visitors also enjoyed a wonderful performance by Dr Hughes!

Delicious food was on offer, from classic Geneva food trucks like The Hamburger Foundation and Debi’s Kitchen. Delicious home made treats were also available.

The Winter Market was, as usual, a resounding success. The generosity of all participants will help causes all around the world, such as Education for All and the humanitarian trip to Guinée.

Thank you to all those who participated! Until next year!

Below are some quotes from students about this weekend’s activities:

Gabriel Roland-Gosselin (Year 12): “Le marché de Noël est magnifique cette année, avec tous les produits et les saveurs. Le plus grand succès sont les food trucks et les multiples nouveautés. Le plus impressionnant est le stand de Guinée avec tous les produits faits en Guinée, ainsi que les Henna dessinés pas Bela Sharma (12ème). Vraiment super!”

Celine Pirard (former student): “It was so nice to be back and see the holiday spirit come to LGB!  It was also so nice to see old friends and so many familiar faces!”

Jacopo Ferrari (Year 12): “A mix of people from different cultures came together to create a colorful kermesse which offered many options, especially for charity!”
