The Interact Youth Rotary Club continues to stay active both locally and internationally by supporting meaningful causes and organizing different fundraising events. Recently, members of our club went to Intercontinental to give a presentation in front of [audience/group]. During the presentation, we explained what Interact is, shared our values, and talked about the projects we are currently working on. It was a great opportunity to represent our club outside of school and raise awareness about what we do.
For our local project, Interact is supporting LAVI, Centre genevois de consultation pour victimes d’infractions. LAVI supports victims of criminal offences by providing emotional, psychological, and psychiatric help, as well as financial support. Their goal is to offer both immediate and long-term assistance to people affected by violence and help reduce the lasting effects of trauma. By working with LAVI, our club is able to support vulnerable individuals in our community.
For our international project, Interact is working with CREDO, an organization that focuses on improving the treatment and prevention of eating disorders worldwide. CREDO develops effective treatment methods, creates accessible training tools for clinicians, and designs digital interventions to reach more people. Their goal is to make eating disorder treatments more efficient and accessible, while also helping to better understand how these disorders can be prevented.
So far, Interact has raised 800 CHF through various fundraising activities. We raised 700 CHF at the school’s winter market by selling snow globes and 100 CHF during a bake sale in the Alps. These events were successful thanks to the strong teamwork and commitment of our members.
Looking ahead, the club has many events planned. Smaller initiatives include a Tulip Sale, activities for International Women’s Day, a kids’ movie screening at school, sports day events, and fundraisers during school performances. We are also planning larger events such as a Kermesse, a School Gala or Auction, and an online GoFundMe campaign.
Overall, the Interact Youth Rotary Club aims to make a real difference by supporting important causes, raising awareness, and encouraging students to get involved in service. Through our local and international projects, we continue to learn the value of teamwork, leadership, and helping others.
