Rubbish at LGB: The importance of throwing away trash

By Ayoub Hariss, Year 9

When you walk into LGB, you may sometimes find bottles on the floor, plastic bags scattered everywhere, and other types of rubbish lying around. Instead of taking a few steps to a bin and recycling their garbage, people often throw it on the floor without considering the consequences. This bad habit is really polluting our environment, even if it seems like nothing. Pollution is running ecosystems, biodiversity, and marine environments.

Throwing trash on the campus floor is also an act of disrespect for the cleaners and the other students around. Rubbish doesn’t just throw itself in the bins, of course not. Every day, people have to come and collect every piece of trash on campus, spending time and effort for those who did not take the time to throw away their garbage. If everyone just threw their trash, the school cleaning staff could finish their work faster and probably better.

Lastly, we want the students to have the best environment to learn. Understanding the importance of recycling and sorting waste is key to a better environment. A clean campus helps to focus and have a clear mind. Throwing garbage on the floor is completely against our principles at Ecolint. We should all take a couple more steps for the environment.

By following this simple rule, we can make a big difference for the environment and all those people who are working hard for us.
